Fax to Elise

The short version of Fax à Elise whom you can download here is the first part of a composition which makes 4 minutes 30. The long version was written for a spectacle of dance and piano the first of which took place in the Cultural Space Alphonse Daudet of Coignières in May, 2001. I imagine the history of a child working his exercises on the subject of the " Letter to Elise " and which dreams that he becomes a pianist, the fingers playing without efforts on the keyboard, reinventing Beethoven's work.

Ostinato n°1

The ostinato n°1 is a piece which is of use as conclusion to the suite for piano "Saint Quentin, ville nouvelle" although having before been written. It follows upon a prelude, and the group honours the children of the School of Saint François d' Assise de Montigny Le Bretonneux who were the victims of the avalanche of Orres in January, 1998. It is dedicated to Estelle, a pupil, who had the luck to be alive.

Spring - Flute

Solo flute score - This piece, I wrote it at about the 1995s. The title : Printemps. (Finally, for what that wants to say… ). In this time, I travelled by train, every day, to go to my work. One hour of travel. I had the time to read and to write. Even of the music. I had made the harmonious analysis of Beethoven's sonatina. I used this harmonious walking to write "Printemps". I lengthened, added the whole blocks, changed the rhythmic and the tempo. In fact, there is only a structure, a skeleton on which I put back a new flesh and some laces. Main character : birdbrain ! The Baroque’s music is based on the independence of the voices. From the 18-th century, one accompanies a melody. For the Baroque, the voices are quite equal, everybody speaks together. One always finds this way of making in the jazz (New Orleans) and the music Klezmer. "Printemps" is written in this style. There are 3 parts which quarrel, complement each other, converse, enjoy themselves. Three parts, three voices : guitar, stamp : Rain, and piano. For me, it is a piece which makes smile and the same laughter. It is as well for me, a sign that it is not so bad as that.

Variations on Greensleeves - Piano

Solo piano score - This melody of the time of Henri VIII of England is ideal for the variation. They of Vaugh William are there to confirm it. As it is the genre which pleases me, probably because it is easier to me, I allowed myself these small variations. I tried to treat them under the shape most polyphonic possible. They were written at first for one violinist, it was 6 or 7 years, but it is played by flute that I prefer them. Furthermore, the stamp "violin", solo, is very badly on computer. At least on mine.
